Nickel Boys is a period drama based on Colson Whitehead's novel. Set in the 1960s, it follows a young Black teen wrongly accused of a crime and sent to a brutal reform school in Florida. There, he forms a bond with a fellow inmate. Directed by RaMell Ross, the film highlights the harsh realities of institutional racism and injustice, as well as the strength of friendship amidst adversity. It’s set for a December 2024 release.
